Chocolate Praline Bars

Ingredients

225g/8oz Rich Tea Biscuits

4 oz Butter or Margarine
1 Rounded dessert spoon Brown Sugar
3 Rounded dessert spoons Drinking Chocolate
1½ Table spoons Golden Syrup
50g/2 oz Sultanas ( optional )

175g/6oz Plain Chocolate (Optional)

Instructions

1. Break up the Rich Tea biscuits into small pieces. Set aside.

2. In a large saucepan melt together the butter, brown sugar, powdered drinking chocolate, golden syrup and the sultanas, (optional). Blend together over a low heat until all the ingredients form a fluid mixture, remove from the heat and stir in the biscuit pieces until they are all coated, add more until the mix is quite stiff.

3. Flatten the mixture into a greased shallow baking tin or glass dish and press down firmly, it’s advisable to cut through the mix now before it sets too hard.

4. At this point if you want you can melt the cooking chocolate and pour it over the top of the biscuit mixture.

5. Place the dish in the fridge and chill until set. Cut the mixture into fingers with a sharp knife.
